I have to give some more props to Gear, a running store in Edina. I went there again this past weekend. For the second time, I had fantastic service. I only bought shoes this time, so it didn't take the hour and forty-five minutes it took last time. But the girl working went over my step, and all the little intricacies of my feet -- arch, pronation, etc. -- and then came back with several pairs of shoes that she thought would work for me. I ended up spending more than I usually do, getting a pair of Brooks for $109. But I'd rather spend that money up front than worry about knee surgery after upping my running so much this winter.
On that note, I ended up logging over 39 miles last week. But I didn't get in a good LSR. I ran all 7 days, and my legs were not happy with me come Sunday. This week I'm going to try to focus on running less or not at all on easy days, so I can make sure that I can get in a good, long run this weekend.
